Rolo user guide

Step-by-step tutorials for every feature. Pick a topic from the sidebar to get started.

Core features

Dashboard

The dashboard is your daily relationship overview. It surfaces the people, events, and signals that need attention right now — so you never have to go digging.

Overview

When you open Rolo, the dashboard is your home screen. It's a grid of widgets — each one surfacing a different signal from your relationship graph. Think of it as a morning briefing: who should you reach out to today? What's coming up this week? How active have you been?

The dashboard is purely informational — it never modifies your data. Everything it shows is derived from your contacts, notes, interactions, and calendar. If you keep those up to date, the dashboard stays genuinely useful.

Widgets

Greeting & streak

Shows a personalised greeting and your current activity streak — the number of consecutive days you've logged interactions or added contacts. Keeping a streak is a lightweight commitment to showing up for your network consistently.

Health rings

Three concentric rings tracking your contacts added this week, interactions logged, and follow-ups completed. Think of it like activity rings for your relationship health.

Person of the day

Rolo surfaces one contact daily based on relationship signals — someone you haven't been in touch with recently, someone whose score is decaying, or someone with an upcoming occasion. Tap their card to review their profile and reach out.

Follow-up tracker

A focused list of contacts who have pending follow-ups or action items from your notes. Each row shows the contact, the original note, and how long ago it was logged. Check these off as you work through them.

Upcoming meetings

Your next 7 days of calendar events, with attendees linked to Rolo contacts. Tap any event to open its meeting prep brief directly.

Activity feed

A chronological stream of everything that's happened in your Rolo: new contacts added, notes logged, events attended, imports completed. Useful for quickly reconstructing what you did last week.

Growth chart

A line chart of how many contacts you've added over time and how your interaction frequency has changed. Useful for spotting when your network activity picks up or slows down.

Tier list

A breakdown of your contacts by rarity tier — how many are Legendary, Epic, Rare, or Common. Quickly see if your top-tier contacts are growing or staying static.

People map widget

A mini version of the full people map showing where your contacts are located globally. Click to open the full map view.

AI cost widget

If you're using advanced AI features, this widget shows token usage and estimated cost by operation type over the past 30 days. Useful for understanding how AI features are being used and staying within your budget.

The streak system

Rolo tracks a daily engagement streak — the number of consecutive days where you've been active in the product (logging a note, adding a contact, completing a follow-up, etc.). It's a simple commitment device to help you build a habit of staying current with your network.

When you hit a milestone — 7 days, 30 days, 100 days — Rolo plays a celebration animation with Rolie, the product mascot. Click the streak button in the top bar to see your streak details and history.

Tip

You don't need to do anything elaborate to maintain your streak — even a 30-second voice note after a meeting counts. Focus on the habit, not the output quality.

Getting around

On desktop, the icon rail runs down the left side of the screen with links to every major section. On mobile, the bottom nav provides the same five destinations at the bottom of the screen.

The command palette (press ⌘ K on desktop) gives you a search-as-you-type shortcut to any contact, page, or action without leaving your current view.
