Core features
Network graph
The network graph shows your entire contact network as an interactive map — nodes for people, edges for relationship connections. Zoom in on clusters, click a node to open their profile, and switch view modes to reveal different relationship signals.
Opening the graph
Navigate to People and click the graph icon in the toolbar, or go directly to People → Network graph from the sidebar.
The graph renders immediately — there's no loading spinner for the layout because Rolo uses a deterministic layout algorithm rather than a physics simulation. Nodes are placed consistently every time, so you'll quickly develop a spatial memory of where people sit in your network.
View modes
Use the view mode picker in the graph toolbar to switch between five different perspectives on your network. Each mode changes how nodes are sized and positioned.
Default
Nodes sized by total interaction count. Your most-talked-to contacts appear largest. Good for getting a general sense of network shape.
Rarity
Nodes sized and highlighted by their rarity tier. Legendary contacts glow brightest. Use this to quickly spot your highest-priority relationships and whether they're well-connected within your graph.
Closeness
Nodes positioned and sized by closeness centrality — how quickly you can reach any other node via that person. High-closeness contacts are your connectors and bridge-builders.
Recent
Nodes highlighted by recency of interaction. Contacts you've engaged with recently glow more intensely. Contacts you haven't spoken to in a while fade out. Great for spotting relationships that are drifting.
RDS
Nodes sized by Relationship Depth Score. Shows which relationships are deepest and strongest. RDS accounts for both the frequency and quality of your interactions, not just recency.
What edges represent
A line between two nodes means Rolo has detected a relationship signal connecting them — they attended the same event, they were mentioned together in the same note, or they share a company. Edges are weighted: thicker edges indicate stronger or more frequent connections.
Your own profile ("You") is always the central node. Every other node is either directly connected to you or connected through shared context. Hover over an edge to see the signals behind it.
Interacting with the graph
Click a node: Opens the contact's profile in the slide-out sidebar on the right, without leaving the graph.
Scroll / pinch to zoom: Zoom in to see labels on smaller nodes, or zoom out for a bird's-eye view of the whole network.
Click and drag the canvas: Pan around the graph.
Zoom controls (top-right): Use the + / − buttons or the fit-to-screen button to reset the view.
Profile sidebar
When you click a node, the graph sidebar slides in from the right. It shows the contact's name, company, rarity badge, RDS score, and a summary of recent interactions — enough context to decide whether to reach out, without having to leave the graph. Click the person's name in the sidebar to open their full profile.
Tips for getting the most from the graph
Use Rarity mode before a networking event to identify which of your Legendary or Epic contacts might be able to make warm introductions in that space.
Use Recent mode on a Friday to spot any important relationships that haven't had activity this week.
Use RDS mode quarterly to audit which relationships are genuinely deepening vs. which feel strong but are actually stagnating.
Clusters in Default mode often correspond to professional contexts — your investors, your team, your conference friends. Identifying clusters helps you notice gaps (e.g., a whole industry you haven't maintained relationships in).
